Copywriting : My Experience

I learned how to upload my first digitized copyrighted image to the World Wide Web! You may be wondering why copyrighting your images is essential. In my opinion, it is essential to copyright the image one uploads to their own page. In my portfolio lab class, I conducted my own research on copyright and copyright laws and learned why it is important. A large part of using copyright with images is the legal aspect. It helps protect the creator’s intellectual and artistic property, giving people full rights to their own work. It allows others to modify and share their work as they please, while also protecting against theft or unauthorized use. The online site and tool, Creative Commons, allows for artists to be granted the licenses needed to use their images, share their images, and ensure proper attribution.

I personally chose to use the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License, which makes it so that I will have to be credited if others choose to use or distribute my work. No derivatives or re-creations/adaptions are allowed without crediting me. All I have to do is paste the license under my image, and I can add attribution details if I wish. It was a much easier process than I was expecting. 🙂
